During teardown the shop found that the EGR cooler had developed a coolant leak internally as well, which led to an EGR delete and PCV re-route. If you want to remove all those solenoids by the fuel filter, you WILL need EFI to turn off the monitoring of those circuits within the ECU. I left my EGR valve in place.
